The second TPSF Webinar held on 20 December 2022 was presented by Dr. Vikki Cheung, who shared her experience on project management and writing of project proposals to the audience. Vikki is Project Manager at the School of Biological and Marine Sciences from the University of Plymouth, UK
With a background in science (BSc Geology; MSc Applied Marine Science; PhD Genetic Ecotoxicology), Vikki has over 15 years’ experience in event and project management in both the private and academic sectors. Prior to her current role of Project Manager, Vikki fulfilled the role of Scientific Coordinator for the Secretariat of the Partnership for Observation of the Global Ocean (POGO).
Vikki has recently completed the role of project manager for a £6.7 million grant for the UK Research and Innovation’s GCRF Blue Communities programme working with international partners from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and the UK, and currently provides project management on several research projects including the GCRF PISCES project, the NERC Bio-Plastic-Risk project, and is the Centre Manager for a new Centre of Doctoral Training in Sustainable Management of UK Marine Resources (CDT SuMMeR).
